This 100% bourbon cultivar is produced by the Abakundakawa Co-op. Grown at high elevation in the rich volcanic soil of the mountainous Gakenke district. The cup is very sweet with gorgeous floral and stone fruit notes and a clean finish. Super sophisticated flavors and a can't stop won't stop complexity highlighting different flavors as it cools.
The co-op strives to build local infrastructure and sustainability by offering health insurance to its producers, dairy cows for income streams outside of coffee, and fresh water to local hospitals.
At the heart of the Abakundakawa co-op are two women's associations which highlights the co-ops focus on improving women's lives in the region by offering training and jobs to create sustainable income sources outside of coffee production.
