Mario Santiz Lopez developed his love for growing coffee from a very young age. He eventually bought his own parcel, Vista Hermosa, in Pantelho, Chiapas. This parcel was first hit with a plague of coffee rust, so he decided to renovate with Sarchimor plants which are coffee rust resistant and a highly productive varietal. The result is now Mario and his family cultivate and practice growing techniques that not only are plague resistant, sustainable, and healthier for the plants and planet, but also produce quality coffees. These guys made huge efforts this year to produce high quality coffee and are well on their way to becoming winners of the Cup of Excellence!
