Abakundakawa Rushashi has been a registered co-op in northern Rwanda since 2004. They produce high-altitude coffee in the hills and empower women through the Hinga Kawa association. They focus on quality and hold Fairtrade and Organic certifications. Located in northern Rwanda, Abakundakawa's members grow coffee trees at high altitudes in the hills, making for incredible coffees. The 2,110 coffee growing members of Abakundawa are located in Rwanda's Gakenke district where volcanic slopes provide ample nourishment for coffee trees. The region's unique microclimate, high altitude, and fertile volcanic soils yield a coffee with a harmonious blend of sweet, floral, and fruity flavors.
